Dear Corporate

Retail Corporate Office
May 2009

To Whom It May Concern:

You have been in charge of large retail corporations for many decades. As the years pass your companies grow bigger and stronger creating more jobs for "corporate" people. I would be remiss to say that all your years of experience haven't taught you how to run a company, but I feel there are a few things you should know about how your leadership comes across to people. All day long you sit in a 10x10 room and think of ways to "improve" your business. You churn out ideas that try to justify your job and your position in the corporate office. However, your ideas that you have so superfluously distributed never actually seem to develop your companies as a whole. While you sit in front of a computer screen all day you can never know what it is that your "worker bees" actually do without actually working in the stores.
We run your business and we make it stronger yet you reap the all the benefits. I find it extremely disappointing that you think it's a good idea to continually shoot all of your worker bees in the foot on a regular basis just to suit yourself. Eventually your businesses won't be around because you chose to hurt the people who work the hardest. You choose to cut hours but demand the same results. You choose to make changes at the drop of a hat without any thought to the consequences. While the economy has a little to do with why your businesses are doing poorly overall, it has little do with why each store is not achieving results. Eventually, the way you treat people will come back to bite you in the ass, but until then I can hope that you will come to your senses. When I start my own business, I will not let money, power, or the opinion of others blind me. I will speak my mind and stand up for what I believe in instead of blindly following where others lead. I know I will do this because your mistakes have taught me to ignore stupidity and work hard.

In short, you have shown time and again how incapable you are of running a business by the courtesy you fail to give your workers. Realize that your workers owe you nothing as you give nothing that motives them. No money. No hours. No benefits. And the people who make it fun are the people that they work with. People stick with the jobs because they do not like the change, but also because people they work with at the stores make it great. They are the foundation of your companies and without them are you nothing. But from what I can see right now, even with them, you are NOTHING.

Sincerely,
Incogknito
